Elora Clinic was born from years of curiosity, research, and care.
The story began in high school, when our founder,
Elora Ellis, joined the Chemistry Olympiad team
and started independent research that led to award-winning articles
on biodegradable plastics and graphene materials. These early
achievements cemented a deep commitment to science and innovation.
After moving to the United States, Elora continued her path as a
research assistant at Georgia Tech, gaining further
experience in advanced chemistry. In 2021, this foundation in
scientific inquiry evolved into the world of skincare formulations,
giving life to Elora Clinic.
At Elora Clinic, formulations are never rushed, mass-produced,
or trend-driven. Each product is handmade in our private lab,
using only purposeful ingredients—never cluttered with unnecessary fillers.
Our philosophy is simple:
science comes before marketing,
transparency before hype, and
purity before complexity.
The future of Elora Clinic is grounded in one principle:
science outlasts trends. While skincare fads
come and go, scientific discovery remains timeless.
Our mission is to become a powerhouse in innovation—advancing
formulations that not only transform skincare but may one day
contribute to breakthroughs in pharmaceutical and medical science.
Skin barrier support is a foundational aspect of long-term skin health. During formulation trials involving multiple amino acids, arginine consistently aligned best with the barrier-support role I was designing.
I chose to build this formula intentionally around arginine rather than adding it as a secondary ingredient. The water-based system includes hyaluronic acid to support hydration and daily use.
This serum was designed so a wide range of skin types can use it regularly—either daily or every other day—as part of a barrier-focused routine.
For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
Ingredients are subject to change as we continue perfecting our formulation.
Please refer to your product packaging for the most accurate ingredient list. Packaging, bottle design, and label colors may also vary as we transition between designs.

Elora Clinic Barrier Support Face Serum is a lightweight, water-based facial serum developed around a focused goal: supporting skin hydration, comfort, and the appearance of a resilient skin barrier without creating a heavy or complicated formula. Rather than combining many trend-driven actives into one product, the formula centers on arginine, hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, and glycerin in a simple aqueous serum system.
The serum is manufactured in the United States by Elora Clinic and is supplied in a 30 mL / 1 fl. oz format.
How the Elora Clinic Barrier Support Serum Is Formulated
The formula begins with a water-based foundation of Aqua (Water) and Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice. Glycerin and sodium hyaluronate are incorporated to build the serum’s hydration system, while arginine provides the formula’s amino-acid component.
This structure keeps the product focused. Instead of relying on an oil-rich base for skin conditioning, the serum uses a lightweight aqueous system intended to fit easily into daily skincare routines and layer with other products.
Arginine is the defining amino acid in the Elora Clinic Barrier Support Face Serum and forms the central part of the product’s barrier-support positioning.
Sodium Hyaluronate provides the hyaluronic-acid component of the formula and supports hydration within the lightweight water-based system.
Glycerin works as a humectant and complements sodium hyaluronate by helping the formula maintain a hydration-focused profile.
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice forms part of the serum base and contributes to the product’s emphasis on skin comfort and hydration.
Together, these ingredients create a deliberately streamlined formula rather than a multi-active treatment serum.
Supporting Ingredients and Preservative System
Tetrasodium EDTA is included as a formulation-support ingredient.
Because Barrier Support Face Serum is a water-based cosmetic, it also requires an appropriate preservation system. The formula uses Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, and Sorbic Acid as its preservative system.
These ingredients serve a different purpose from the serum’s skin-focused ingredients: they are included to support the integrity of the water-based formulation rather than to define the product’s primary cosmetic function.
What Is Elora Clinic Barrier Support Face Serum Designed For?
The serum is designed primarily for barrier support and hydration. It is intended for someone looking for a focused water-based serum rather than a formula containing numerous competing actives.
Its formula philosophy is intentionally straightforward: provide an amino-acid component through arginine, establish hydration through sodium hyaluronate and glycerin, and maintain a lightweight aqueous base with aloe vera.
That makes Barrier Support Face Serum particularly easy to understand within the wider Elora Clinic serum collection: it is the serum specifically centered around hydration + barrier-supportive skin conditioning.
Best Way to Use Elora Clinic Barrier Support Face Serum
Apply the serum to clean skin, distributing an appropriate amount evenly across the face and neck. Because it is water-based, it can be used before heavier creams or facial oils when those products are part of the same routine.
For a simple routine, use Barrier Support Face Serum after cleansing and follow with moisturizer as needed. It can be incorporated into either a minimal routine or a more advanced skincare routine depending on the other products being used.
