All About Frankincense
Frankincense oil is an aromatic botanical ingredient derived from the resin
of Boswellia trees. It is commonly used in skincare products and facial-oil
routines intended to support softness, comfort, smoother-looking texture,
and the appearance of firmer, more balanced skin.
Although frankincense is plant-derived, it should not automatically be considered
gentle or suitable for every skin type. Essential oils are highly concentrated,
and applying undiluted frankincense oil or using it too frequently may cause
redness, burning, itching, dryness, or contact irritation—particularly when the
skin barrier is already compromised.
This education cluster explains how frankincense oil is used in skincare,
its potential cosmetic benefits, how it compares with peptides for visible
firmness, why reactions may occur, and how to use it more carefully in a
skin-tightening or facial-oil routine.
